Omaha Area Free Fall Family Fun

We've got Fall Fever at Blue Door Pediatric Therapy, and our therapists are so excited to pull out all of our favorite Fall activities. The weather is cooling down and Fall is an amazing time to explore the Omaha area with your family. Of course there are plenty of pumpkin patch and apple picking opportunities in the Omaha area, there are also a lot of FREE FAMILY FALL events. Here are a few of our favorite fantastic fun and free activities and events to engage your family in this wonderful season!
Fall Fun at the Hummel Nature Center
Hummel Nature Center, 3033 Hummel Road, Omaha, NE
Friday, September 27 from 6:30 to 8pm, attend the Owl Prowl. The all-ages event will include outdoor games, crafts, hikes and the opportunity to learn all about owls. On Fridays, October 11 and 18 from 6 to 8:30pm, the Hummel Harvest Nights will be held. The family-friendly evenings will have hiking, camp fires, crafts, s’mores, games and other activities. Registration is required.
Harvest Family Night at the Museum
Union Pacific Museum, 200 Pearl St, Council Bluffs, Iowa 51503 Friday, October 4, 2019 at 5:30 PM – 8 PM
Celebrate the changing of seasons with fall fun and games for all ages. Enjoy apple cider and learn about how railroads ship apples all across the country for us to enjoy. Check out food transport model trains, make corn husk dolls and enjoy a story with Council Bluffs Public Library.
Free Friday Night Movies at the Orchard
Ditmars Orchard & Vineyard, 225th Street, Council Bluffs, IA. October 4, 11, 8 and 25 at 7:30 pm.
Bring your chairs and blankets and enjoy a free family movie every Friday night in October. Check for movies featured each night.
Harvest Fest at the Village Pointe Farmers Market
Village Pointe, 17305 Davenport Street, Omaha, NE, Saturday, October 5, 8:30am to 12:30pm.
Check out Harvest Fest, where, in addition to the market, kids can enjoy face painting, a bounce house, mini pumpkin decorating and free hayrack rides. There will also be live music, craft vendors and specialty items.
Earl May's Annual Pumpkin Festival
Earl May, 9229 W. Center Road, Omaha, NE 68124, Saturday, October 12th 10am-4pm.
Bring the family and join in the fun at Earl May’s Annual Pumpkin Fest! Enjoy Cheer Up Grilling, free kids activities including games, face painting, & more! Purchase any pumpkin and paint it for free.
Autism Society Omaha's Fall Festival
Autism Center of Nebraska, 9012 Q St., Omaha, NE. October 12th, 1:00 p.m. to 3 p.m.
The Fall Festival is a fun, inviting environment full of activities and a good time for your family. Attending the event is a great way to practice skills, work on uncertainties (decor/costumes), and to just have a good time! The Fall Festival includes: fine motor, gross motor, & craft activities, snacks and more. Bring a little bag with you for collecting goodies. Also, it is encouraged to wear costumes but not mandatory. Registration is encouraged for this event.
Omaha’s Great Pumpkin Tree Festival
Village Pointe, 17305 Davenport Street, Omaha NE, Saturday, October 26
This event begins at 10am with a full day of Halloween festivities, including pumpkin carving from 10am to 2pm, trick or treating and games in the amphitheater from 2:30 to 4:30pm, a concert by eNVY – Omaha from 5 to 7pm and then the pumpkin tree lighting and a flash mob performance at 7pm.
Halloween Spooktacular
Partnered with the Saddlebrook Library, 14850 Laurel Ave, Omaha, NE 68116, Saturday, October 26th, 10:30am-12:30pm.
Enjoy a not-so-spooky story time, obstacle course, bounce house, and coloring. Make a spooky craft and play other Halloween themed games!
Halloween Hoopla!

The Halloween Hoopla! is a Papillion Halloween event for the whole family at the Shadow Lake Amphitheater. This event includes trick or treating, free hayrack rides and festive fun.
Halloween Fun, Apollon Family Art Day

Take part in a Halloween themed family art day. Many art activities will be available such as painting or decorating a pumpkin, creating a mask, decorating a sweet treat and more. You can even come dressed in a family friendly costume. This will be fun for the whole family. There is limited space and supplies, so registration in advance is encouraged
DSA Halloween Trunk or Treat
Down Syndrome Alliance of the Midlands, Mammel Hall, 6708 Pine Street, Omaha. Sunday, October 27, 2019 at 4:30 PM – 5:30 PM.
Bring out the monsters, ghouls, princesses, and heroes! The G.R.A.N.D.S. go all out to delight and spoil them. Decorate your trunk and hand out candy if you would like to do that. The more, the merrier! Cars will be set up at 4PM. Trick-or-Treating is from 4:30pm to 5:30pm.
