MELISSA BRADLEY-POTTER

Blue Door Pediatric Therapy, P.C., is owned and operated by

Melissa Bradley-Potter, M.A., CCC-SLP.  Melissa is a Nebraska licensed and ASHA certified Speech-Language Pathologist serving families in Omaha and surrounding areas. An Iowa native who lives with her husband, ten year old twin boys and seven year old daughter, Melissa has been working with children and their families for more than a decade. Melissa is a parent of children with autism and ADHD.

Melissa is a Certified Hanen Instructor for the It Takes Two to Talk® Program and the More Than Words® Program. These programs teach families how to become their child's most important language teacher. She is a Certified Baby Signs Instructor, teaching families how to communicate with their babies through sign.

Melissa is a member of the American Speech and Hearing Association (ASHA) as well as the Nebraska Speech-Language-Hearing Association (NSLHA).  She is also a member of the Nebraska Occupational Therapy Association (NOTA) and a guild member for the Autism Action Partnership (AAP). Melissa specializes in working with autistic children, children with Down Syndrome, ADHD, and early intervention toddlers and preschoolers. Melissa is passionate about neurodiversity affirming practice, parent education, and mentoring the next generation of therapists to help our community. Melissa grew up on a farm in Iowa and went to undergraduate and graduate school at the University of Northern Iowa in Cedar Falls. Melissa loves reading, children's literature, animals and coffee. She enjoys experiencing all of the wonderful activities that Omaha has to offer with her family and friends. Melissa has a 4 year old Rhodesian Ridgeback dog named Bea and a Schnoodle puppy named Hattie.

Her favorite color is turquoise and she has an iris garden that blooms in beautiful colors in the spring. 


THERAPISTS

Nicole Knight is one of Blue Door's occupational therapistsbringing over 20 years of experience in the pediatric setting. After completing undergraduate study at UNL earning a BS in Exercise, she completed her MOT at the University of Puget Sound in Tacoma, WA.  She has worked in the school based settings starting in Seattle public schools, moving to rural Washington, before returning to the midwest. Nicole’s passion is kids and believes in treating the whole child and including the family in therapy. She has specific knowledge related to sensory processing and autism spectrum disorders, including being ADOS and verbal behavior trained. Nicole has been trained in Handwriting Without Tears curriculum and zones of regulation. 

 

Nicole has been married to her husband Justin for 23 years. She has a beautiful 17 year old daughter Blythe who is a Senior in high school. When not at work Nicole enjoys watching Blythe play soccer, gardening, traveling, and taking walks with her dogs Jenny and Dan.

Darian Hyde is one of Blue Door's Speech-Language Patologists therapists who completed her degree at Central Michigan University in Mount Pleasant, Michigan. She lived in Michigan her whole life until she moved to Nebraska in August of 2024. Darian is passionate about AAC, early intervention, and working with kids with Autism. 

 

Darian has been married to her husband, Michael, for 5 years. They enjoy playing video games, hammocking, and playing ladder ball together. Darian also enjoys spending time with her family, especially her nieces and nephews. Her other hobbies include reading, coloring, puzzles, and anything Disney. If Darian were a Disney Princess she would be Belle from Beauty and the Beast.

Brad Gibson is one of Blue Door's Speech-Language Patologists therapists and is an Omaha native. Brad has 20 plus years of experience working with elementary age children. 

 

Brad has been married to his wife for 19 years and their daughter is a senior in high school. Brad has a lot of jokes that he loves to tell and brings energy and fun to every therapy session.

Alyssa Jones is our Patient Care Coordinator 

If you are in need of help facilitating your child’s needs, she will help with pointing you in the right direction. Combined with 15 years medical and customer service, along with her degree in Healthcare administration she is well rehearsed in many avenues. Her own children are patients at Blue Door, one of which is Autistic so she brings both personal and professional experience to our clinic.

In her free time she enjoys spending time with her husband and their busy three boys.

Lauren Leggitt is our Collections Specialist and is part of our billing administration team.   She is currently studying medical billing and coding. Her years of customer service experience and administrative experience are here to help our billing operations run smoothly and efficiently.

She found Blue Door when her own  children needed services and has loved it here ever since. She enjoys spending time with her husband, three kids, 3 Great Danes and 2 cats. You will also find her traveling to Colorado throughout the year to spend time with her family and to enjoy the mountains
